Chantelle Cameron has been upgraded to the WBC super-lightweight world title as Katie Taylor has become ‘Champion in Ricase’.

The WBC interim title in Cameron 140LBS and the full title for which Taylor was the mandatory challenger.

The 39 -year -old Taylor completed a trilogy over Amanda Serano in July and the box was not expected again this year. His new status as ‘Champion in Ricase’ means that while the world title can be active on 140LBS, WBC will provide the Irish star a world title shot if he opt for the division to return to the division.

Cameron has been instructed to defend the title against British rival Sandy Ryan.

This means that a third battle between Cameron and Taylor is probably the possibility in the nearly near period.

In 2023, Cameron handed over the first professional defeat to Taylor, only to win his rematch to Irish Star.

Cameron has been on one run of three good win since then, raising the WBC interim belt, as she pushed for a shot on the title she caught.
